Jeffrey A. Karp is a Clinical Psychologist who has been practicing since 2012. He graduated from Dickinson College in 2006 and earned his Doctorate in Psychology at the Illinois School of Professional Psychology in 2012. Dr. Karp’s training includes a pre-doctoral internship at Rappahannock Area Community Services Board in Fredericksburg, VA and post-doctoral fellowship at an inpatient hospital for children and adolescents in Richmond, Virginia in 2013. He has worked at a wide range of mental health organizations including public and alternative schools, residential facilities, and outpatient mental health clinics while focusing on treating children, adolescents, and their families. Dr. Karp utilizes a systemic approach in treating clients which focuses on identifying how each member of a family system can contribute towards positive change. His clinical interests include utilizing his understanding of attachment theory, play therapy, trauma-informed care, and family systems while supporting individuals with behavioral disorders, depression, anxiety, and the effects of trauma.
